Aptus Construction Systems, a Brisbane-based construction technology company, faced a need to scale their workforce rapidly. Despite consistent local recruitment efforts, the team struggled to attract enough applicants – let alone high-quality candidates. The Brisbane talent pool was limited, competitive and unable to supply the specialised skill sets Aptus required. Previous positive experiences with offshore teams gave the company confidence that expanding overseas might offer a solution. In both hiring rounds, the team expanded their intake-first from two to three hires, then from three to five because they didn’t want exceptional talent to slip away.
