“We weren’t sure about doing offshoring but Access Offshoring has made it so easy . They have a huge talent pool and always keep you updated. If you’re thinking about doing offshoring. Reach out to Tiffany and the team.”Chris Hunter, Director

Spanner Plumbing is a  Brisbane-based construction plumbing company with over 20 years of experience in commercial and industrial plumbing, new builds and refits. They’ve worked with some of the best builders in Brisbane, Logan and the Gold Coast.

The challenge

Chris identified a growing bottleneck in the estimating function. With increasing workloads and limited internal resources, Spanner Plumbing needed a reliable, skilled professional to support estimating, documentation and construction-related tasks – without the high cost of hiring locally.

While Chris recognised the need for additional support, he initially felt hesitant – driven by questions around trust, how offshore staffing would actually work, and whether the quality of offshore talent could meet his standards. .

Through a series of open and robust conversations, Access Offshoring worked closely with Spanner Plumbing to map out what the role could look like, the skills required and the calibre of talent available offshore.

How Access Offshoring helped

After several months of consultation, Access Offshoring successfully recruited a highly skilled construction professional based in the Philippines who works:

  • Full-time (40 hours per week).

  • On Brisbane business hours.

  • Exclusively for Spanner Plumbing.

Access Offshoring managed the entire recruitment process end-to-end – from sourcing, screening, interviewing, and testing candidates before presenting only the most suitable options to the client.

The outcome

The new remote team member quickly became an integral part of Spanner Plumbing’s operations. In addition to estimating support, he now manages as-constructed drawings, a task that was previously outsourced.

According to Chris, here’s how they achieve significant cost savings:

  • The annual cost of offshore estimator role: approximately $30,000–$35,000 AUD.

  • Previously outsourced drawings: approximately $10,000–$12,000 AUD per year.

  • These services are now fully integrated into the remote team member’s role at no additional cost.

By consolidating multiple functions into one offshore position, Spanner Plumbing significantly reduced overheads while improving efficiency and turnaround times.

This partnership demonstrates how strategic offshore recruitment can remove operational bottlenecks, improve productivity and deliver substantial cost savings. With the right talent and the right support, Access Offshoring enables businesses like Spanner Plumbing to scale confidently – without compromising on quality or control.
